How to File an Online Complaint with IESCO

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) maintains a central Customer Complaint Management System (CCMS) linked with the Ministry of Energy. Consumers facing billing anomalies, incorrect meter readings, low voltage issues, or transformer breakdowns can lodge complaints through multiple channels:

1

Helpline Call (118)

Dial 118 from any mobile or landline network. Provide your 14-digit bill reference number to register a tracking ticket.

2

SMS Service (8118)

Compose a text message formatted as: [14-Digit Ref No] [Complaint Detail] and send to 8118.

3

Sub-Division Office

Visit your local Revenue Office or SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer) with a printed copy of your IESCO duplicate bill.

Escalating Billing Disputes to NEPRA

If IESCO officials fail to rectify faulty meter reading charges or unresolved overbilling within 14 working days, consumers have a statutory right to submit a formal complaint to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). When filing an escalation:

  • Attach your initial 118 tracking complaint ticket number.
  • Provide a copy of the disputed IESCO electricity bill showing reading discrepancies.
  • Submit via call to 051-2013200 or directly at NEPRA Consumer Affairs Division.
